We’ve been enjoying this splendid warm weather and sunny blue skies. Click in to see if you can spot Pika and wild child running through the marshlands.
This area used to be several large beaver ponds but something created a large damaged section in the dams – I’m guessing it was two-footers with explosives. Nasty creatures. The land heals and the beavers will rebuild.

Daily Spark: There is a meme going around about how dangerous the pavement is for dogs, claiming it is too hot for them. Not universally true.
My dogs have very thick callous on their paws. The equivelant of about a 1/2″ to 3/4″ thick leather shoe sole which is no problem walking on hot pavement. They also move their feet, they’re not standing flat footed like the meme writers probably do. Why do the dogs have so much callous? Probably because they’re running around on rocks and sharp branches I suppose but all dogs I’ve had (>40) have had callous like that.
On top of that I’ve walked bare foot on hot pavement and concrete for near half a century. It really isn’t as bad as thin skinned individuals make it out to be. Time for everyone to have a thicker soul… (sp!)
I sometimes wonder if these memes are being propagated by people selling doggy booties. Anything to make a buck.
Segway: Today I found a red racer snake on the road warming itself up.
