Acres Magazine: The Practical Permaculture Pig

Sugar Mountain Farm featured in Acres USA Magazine

There is an article in the latest issue of Acres USA Magazine about pasturing pigs titled “The Practical Permaculture Pig” by Andrew French which goes into quite a bit of detail about what works and why. It features four farms, including our farm, each of which use pasture as the primary feed for their pigs. The focus of the article is how to raise pigs sustainably using pasture for inputs and what makes it work.

To learn more about what we feed our pigs see the Pig Page and read about diet and rotational grazing. Follow the links from there for deeper details of how we make it work in our situation with our pigs on pasture.
