Solar Farm at Adams Family Farm in Athol, Mass
Just a quick note to let you know I have updated the Sponsor’s Page on our farm’s web site with the names of everyone from the Kickstarter Survey Reports. The Sponsor’s Page is found in the Butcher Shop menu on our web site.
On the Kickstarter rewards we are working on sending out postcards, calendars and other goodies. Priority Mail boxes just arrived in the mail yesterday so we can send out more.
On the Butcher Shop front we are working on refrigeration. Being able to work indoors on the construction is wonderful. Most years we have to stop construction come winter as the snows begin to settle in. This year we closed in the shell of the building and it is floating around 45°F which is a very comfortable work temperature. It was really nice to be working construction under cover after completing morning chores when it was -17°F and very windy outside. 45°F can feel positively balmy in comparison!
On the farm, the early January piglets are weaning and more piglets are about to pop out into the snowy world. Last night we got about four inches more snow. We typically get a dusting to a few inches most nights during the winter which keeps everything looking very white, blindingly so at times since winter is also a time when we have very clear skies. Somedays we even have both sunshine, bright blue skies and snow at the same time.
Outdoors: 27°F/-1°F 4″ Snow, Overcast, No More Wind
Tiny Cottage: 66°F/62°F
