Insect Eaten Decoy Plant
I did not plant this but this ‘weed’ but I did leave it. It serves a purpose, acting as a decoy. Insects eat it instead of my crops. The ‘weed’ also shades the ground keeping it moister. When the ‘weed’ is encroaching on my plants and they need the space I pull the ‘weed’ opening up canopy space. This is much like what we do in our forestry. Then I throw the ‘weeds’ a.k.a. pig food to the pigs and they chow down.

Daily Spark: Fool hardy is buying the eBook edition of a guide to surviving the apocalypse.
This is a great idea! An easy step towards a more organic (moreganic?) garden.
Love your daily spark! I wonder what “they’re” thinking every time I see a how to or “survival” title in ebook form.
I follow your blog and advice on HT. I wish I was closer; I’d purchase my startup stock from your herd!

I love the economy of this. It falls in with my philosophy learned from my Great Depression era parents . . . “Use it up, Wear it Out, Make it do…or Do without.”
