Vermont State House Night

Vermont State House at Night

Another view of the capitol building. As you approach our capital city of Montpelier you see the golden dome sticking up above the trees and other buildings nestled in the ring of mountains. This is unusual – The small size of the capital ‘city’ make this possible. I put city in quotes as to me it is a city but with a population under 10,000 most city folk would consider it rather rural. In any case, the name of the capitol literally means ring of mountains and the name of our state literally means green mountains, both in French.
