Internet Explorer Bombing

Apparently there is a problem with Internet Explorer 8 and possibly other versions below which causes them to bomb when exposed to the image expanding javascript that I use. It may be that this only happens with Windows machines – I’ve yet to see any problem on Macintosh computers running Internet Explorer.

I have currently turned off the image expanding javascript so that you can see this message without bombing. I will be turning it back on.

Microsoft is aware of the problem as they fixed the problem in Internet Explorer 9. If you use Internet Explorer then I strongly urge you to upgrade to the latest version or switch to Safari, Opera or FireFox at this time to avoid this and other web browser vulnerabilities.

For whatever it’s worth, my various linux computers have never had problems displaying your blog.

My Linux netbook works ok…. except that the screen is small so that when I expand pictures, they actually get smaller ;-)

It isn’t called “internet exploder” for nothing…. it took about 3 versions before they figured out *.png alpha channels. (the alpha channel defines the transparency of any given pixel… but you probably knew that already)

Hmm it looks like your site ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any points for inexperienced blog writers? I’d really appreciate it.
