Crepes & Croissants

Strawberry Crepes and Home Made Croissants

Will, in the middle, has gotten quite good at making croissants, which endears him to me greatly as I love eating them. This morning he made strawberry crepes to go along with them. What ever you do, teach your kids to cook!

Oh, hear hear! One of the most wonderful things you can do for your children is teach them how to cook and how to bake. Both of my girls are well on their way.

My eldest (7.5) has discovered that she can talk me into letting her bake something after the littles are in bed – and since it always takes longer than I estimate (I forget she's not as fast as me), she gets to stay up late! A double treat for her. This one invented her first recipe at 4 (a reasonable cake recipe, from the top of her head) and is now an avid reader of cookbooks. The other two love to help me or their sister, but are too young to do much by themselves yet.

I always felt sorry for my best friend in 6-12th grades. Her mother wouldn't let any of the kids into the kitchen. I grew up in mine.

That's wonderful your kids enjoy cooking… my mom, now in her 80s, still reminisces about how nice it was for her to come home from work and I had dinner waiting on the table for her :-) I love crepes and croissants both! I can make good crepes but I am croissant-challenged. I have given up, I had only one batch out of six come out well. Any chance Will could post his recipe and method?

BTW, every time I have tried to go to Will's Snow Wolf page, I get a message "Internal Server Error". I can see Sugar Mtn Life/Girl no problem.

  7. Mmmm… Breakfast looks good! I never seem to have time for it except on the weekends. I really need to slow my lifestyle down to make time for the good stuff!
