Do you use iodine, a.k.a., Lugol’s Solution, on your farm or homestead for sterilizing wounds, umbilical cords and the like? The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) is now outlawing the sale of this important compound. Why? Apparently druggies use it in Methamphetamine production. So law abiding homesteaders and farmers everywhere will be punished for the crimes of a few criminals. Bass Ackwards as usual.
I would suggest stocking up on 7% Iodine for your farm or homestead immediately. The rule goes into effect August 1st, 2007.
Outdoors: 79°F/54°F Sunny
Farm House: 77°F/64°F
Tiny Cottage: 73°F/68°F Windows open
Thanks for the “heads up” – I’ll have to stock up. How typical, sadly.

oh man!! that’s ridiculous! well, i’ll go ahead and stock up this weekend. thanks for the heads up walter! :)
Thanks for the alert! I already have three bottles of it but will get more tomorrow.
If they outlaw iodine, only the outlaws will have iodine.
Here we go again.. not long ago there was a limit of one package of coffee filters per customer because the meth-heads used them in production. I can’t understand the logic in making another rule or law to stop the lawless. What is useful shelf life of iodine solutions?
apparently valley vet supply stocks something called triodine-7 which is comparable to lugols, the difference being it will not crystallize rendering it useless for illegal drug manufacture.
might help somewhere down the road when your supply runs out.
