The frogs have been singing, spring peepers down in the marshes as well as those in our pool, the pig pond and the upper pond in the photo above where Hope is counting frog egg masses by the spillway.
In the paper I’ve read that some parts of Vermont are experiencing dry conditions. It certainly is drier than usual this time of year although no fire risk – the fields are moist and growing well. We got little snow this winter, even with the large late snow falls towards the end of season so I suspect that the mountain has not been fully replenished. This means we’ll likely have a dry summer. Time to use mulches.
