  2. An interesting thing about that cherry tree is it was not there when we built our cottage in the fall of 2005 so it is just under seven years old at most, maybe only six years old. The tree is growing up from a rock pile that edges the ramp leading up into our fields. Very poor dry soil. Yet the tree is doing well, the base about a foot up is 5.5″ in diameter and it’s strong enough to support three young tigers climbing in it.
