Self-Reseeding & Root Regrowth

Returned from the Root Stock

In 2009 we frost seeded rape and kale. Those are supposedly annuals but in reality they come back both from the root in addition to the self-reseeding we’ve been getting. Generally the pigs eat the leaves and leave the root stock which then puts up more leaves. Perhaps our snows are early and deep enough to protect the roots so they survive the winter.
