Courting Cock

Gentleman of the Day

This feathered fiend was strutting about in front of the ladies. He is one of the many color variants of the Ameraucana (Araucana) breed.

Technically you don’t need a rooster to have eggs but it is fun. I enjoy having some roosters around, not too many, but a few for their beauty. They have elegant long feathers and show themselves off all summer long. Come winter just one will escape the pot.

Outdoors: 53°F/36°F Moderate Rain
Tiny Cottage: 67°F/65°F

Daily Spark: Famous 2nd to last quote: I promise to use my powers only for good.

  1. Awhile back I did some painting for awhile. I choose roosters over and over for the coloring. Still a few pieces of my artwork linger on our farm like the big rooster on our feed shed. They are beautiful. In AND out of the pot . Happy Fall Walter and family!!

We had one that looked just like that one. We called him hannibal. He truly was a cannibal.
