Warm Layers

Layers Upon Layers

Shrek said that ogres have layers like an onion. Donkey said like a cake. Vermonters have layers too. It is how one keeps warm in the north country.

Layers are better than one solid bulk garment. Especially this time of year we need layers because as the day progresses we peel down slowly to keep from over heating as the day warms and so do we from exertion. Even in January the layered method is great because one can unzip a layer or two so as to cool off a bit without taking everything off.

Sheep have wool. Pigs have split ends. Dogs have double coats of fur. Ogres and Vermonters have layers. All are warmed through the cold months.

Hey! Wool gives me hives! I don't wear wool and I am still a smart person!

Try "smart wool"–I ordinarily itch with wool, but I can wear smart wool–it's warm and comfy. (Made with long fibers)
