Card from Gallo Family

Today I got an elegant card in a fancy envelope:

Galo Family Gold Medal Awards
CONGRATULATIONS
Your product has been chosen as a finalist in

We share your utmost commitment to quality, standards

That was all that was in the envelope. Earlier this winter I had entered our pastured pork hot dogs in the contest. Pretty cool! I also received an email today instructing us how to send samples to the New York restaurant that will be preparing the food for the judging panel. We’ll see what happens next! Hopefully they’ll love our uncured smoked pasture pork hot dogs!

Speaking of hot dogs, the last batch sold out completely and tomorrow we pickup our next batch as well as the first batch of smoked kielbasa.

Very cool! Keep up the good work!

  2. Congratulations are in order! That contest is a great initiative by the Gallo Family and your qualifying says you’re doing something quite right.
I checked out your hot dogs post as well and was suitably impressed. Looks delicious. I know what it’s like to wonder what you’re going to do with the less popular but no less nutritious and delicious cuts.

    Wow Walt!!!!!!!

You just keep impressing me, Walter.

  5. P says:

    Congratulations!

I’m going to have to look up those hot dogs next time I’m in VT. Are they available in Mass?

    Perri

  6. Ironically, no we don’t have the hot dogs in any stores in Mass. I say Ironically because the sausage stuffer that puts it in the skins and smokes it is located in MA so we drive down there each time for a batch to drop off meat and pickup the next hot dogs. This latest batch was also Kielbasa. Or should that be Kielbasi???

  7. P says:

Are they available in Brattleboro? That’s pretty durn close for us.

What place do you use in Mass. (We are hoping to make some lamb sausage this year.)

    Perri

  8. P, we should talk with stores in Brattleboro as we pass right through on our way north. Someone has given me a couple of leads and when we have enough supply I’ll followup. Our third batch of hot dogs is now in process.
