Mystery Photo 20060227

Out in the fresh snow I see a lot of animal tracks including pigs, sheep, chickens, dogs, cat, mice, bear, ravens and more. This time it was a bit of a puzzler. What could have made these tracks??? When you think you know, click on the photo to see the answer…

That reminds me of the time I tried to throw some past their prime oranges into the garden from the porch. There was a hard ice crust on the snow and many of the oranges just kept rolling. We watched them for a few minutes until they disappeared over the crest of the hill. Some of them ended up down at the pond which is at least 1000 feet away and 120 lower in elevation. Also, Walter, you should check out the readymade ice sculpture I have on my blog today.

While you are playing with snow photos we are now in the 80’s here in Kansas. My what extreme weather across the U.S.

I saw the prints and immediately thought it wasn’t an animal.

  5. 80’s?!? That is obscene! It doesn’t even usually that hot here during the summer. Eek! Our summer time high is 86째F – one day in the past 16 years. The kids are still hoping we’ll get some serious snow for more snowboarding and sledding. I fear mud season is just around the corner.
